Hornet was born of a political agreement. Her mother, Herrah the Beast, wanted a bargain with the Pale King in order for her to become a Dreamer. Thus the young spider was born. Princess of a dying kingdom, Hornet was raised in Deepnest with the knowledge that her mother would enter eternal slumber to keep the plague that was infesting Hallownest at bay. She protects the kingdom from travelers who wish to desecrate it, chasing them off and driving them out of Hallownest with little remorse. She also protects the Black Egg Temple from those who wish to try and break the seal.
